The bank also set up a service hotline and live chat service to assist with the process.
Hang Seng Bank has just launched a new Business Banking Remote Account Opening Service that allows business clients to open an account anytime, anywhere.
In a press release, Hang Seng Bank said this helps overcome challenges brought about by social distancing and change of lifestyle habits resulting from the pandemic. Previously, business clients need to schedule an appointment or visit a Business Banking Centre in person to open an account.
The account-opening process is paperless and digital, making it suitable for all sole proprietors and one-person limited companies registered in Hong Kong, the bank added.
To assist with the digital account opening process, Hang Seng has also set up a dedicated team and a service hotline (2198 8000) to assist with account opening applications and answer customer enquiries.
The remote account opening service also comes with a Live Chat function through which customers can contact the bank’s customer service officers instantly if they require any assistance during the process.
