Bank of East Asia appoints Head of Greater Bay Area Office

The Bank of East Asia, Limited (BEA) has appointed Christine Lo as head of Greater Bay Area Office. She is based in Hong Kong.

Lo previously served as the bank’s head of retail lending. She led BEA’s launch of the GBA cross-boundary mortgage service in 2020, which allows customers to handle their applications from Hong Kong for services such as remittance, currency conversion, and loan repayments.

In her role, Lo is expected to focus on “devising strategies, maximising synergies and aligning resources by leveraging the bank’s strong regional presence.”

“The GBA is of strategic importance to the bank as we view this vibrant area as one of the key drivers of growth for our business,” said Brian Li, co-chief executive of BEA.

He added that with the group’s comprehensive business licences and partnerships in consumer banking services, it is well positioned to further grow its business in the GBA.
